Jan Backman is respnsible for business development and growth of the VX Fiber Group across key strategic markets in Europe and heads up the CRM function across the group.

He holds degrees from the Stockholm School of Economics and the University of Cologne and has more than 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry.

Throughout his career, he has held roles in business development, product management, and marketing at companies including Siemens, Fujitsu, Waystream, and Ericsson.

In the FTTH sector, Jan built and led a dedicated team and established an open access division at Teracom Broadband Networks in Sweden. The business was successfully exited to Telia in 2018 before joining VX in the same year.

Jürgen Raith drives strategic growth and commercial partnerships for VX Fiber in the DACH region. He has more than twenty years of experience in the telecommunications industry, with a strong focus on fiber rollout, network operations, and scalable business models.


As employee number one in Vodafone’s fiber business, he helped build the unit from the ground up and played a key role in its strategic and operational development.


He later served as Managing Director of Netzkontor, transforming the company into a leading service provider for digital infrastructure. Netzkontor was active in Open Access and active network operations, delivering sustainable and efficient fiber network structures.

Wolfgang Klöckl is Senior Business Development Manager and supports the VX project team in the implementation phase. He has been in the telecommunications sector for more than 30 years and has gained international experience in Europe, the Middle and Far East. Over the course of his career, in addition to sales-related functions, he has held management positions in both controlling and service areas in a major international manufacturer. He has been working intensively on fibre optic expansion for ten years now.

With more than 20 years of experience in telecommunications and infrastructure services, Peadar has worked extensively across wholesale broadband, fiber network strategy, and ISP ecosystem development. His background spans commercial leadership, network transformation, and platform-based growth models, helping operators unlock value through open access and multi-ISP environments.
